Rompa

Rompa® has worked with AGW for almost 20 years to develop and produce their range of innovative Bubble Tubes. They are a multi-functional item for sensory play, the pump within them produces vibration and noise; both are excellent sensory stimulators for touch and hearing.

They trust AGW’s technical expertise to produce an innovative product when it comes to electronics.

Early in the relationship with Rompa®, AGW were asked to re-design the existing range of bubble tube bases. They listened to Rompa’s requirements and took a series of random bubble tube designs and developed a uniform modular design, which suited the full range of sizes and styles that Rompa marketed. This gave a very good basis for the manufacture of the bases and allowed further development of the bubble tube systems. The trust between the two businesses meant that they developed the product together and made several advancements in the design over time. These include altering the method of providing the lighting, integrating the Rompa Wi-Fi Sensory compatibility, draining and filling facilities to ease the change of tube water, reducing the mass of the base and easing the initial base and tube set-up assembly, therefore demonstrating their wealth of knowledge in electronics.

Rompa® approached AGW to help them develop a new range of Bubble tubes, with a brief to suit NHS environments which require infection control and need to meet legislation designed to prevent the spread of legionnaire’s disease. As they had already worked together on several Snoezelen® multi-sensory products, Rompa® trusted AGW’s working methods, design skills and commitment to the production of quality products.

Rompa® are a leading multi-sensory room provider in the UK, they have designed and installed hundreds of Snoezelen® multi-sensory environments. Each environment is individually designed taking into account the brief to include location, dimensions and the end users’ needs. They have been in business for over 30 years and have over 60 employees and work hard to develop new and innovative products which complement the therapist, professional and carer to meet the end goals of the users.

Any challenges encountered during the design development process were dealt with swiftly by AGW’s team. They work well on design problems and listen to Rompa’s specifications, “AGW are easy to work with, they listen and give constructive feedback,” say Graham Corps, Database & IT Director and Donna Hartley, Managing Director, and are therefore an ideal working partnership.

The design of the ‘waterless’ bubble tube gives the product its competitive advantage and the product is well sought after in the health industry. The finished products are shipped across the UK & around the world through Rompa’s network of distributors, and they have already resumed discussions with AGW to see how they can work together to further develop the concept and grow the range of innovative multi-sensory products.

AGW are easy to work with, they listen and give constructive feedback.
