AGW look to the future with two new Directors joining the Board
Here at AGW, we're committed to the development and continuous improvement of our team. With nearly 60 years' electronics manufacturing experience between them, they'll be a fantastic addition to our board of directors.
Directors
Andy Grainger | Production Director
Having started through a work experience programme in 1980, Andy has spent the last 40 years producing components and assemblies to bespoke customer requirements ensuring that quality standards were set and withheld across the workforce.
Andy progressed from his work experience role to production supervisor, through to Production Manager, ultimately reaching the Board of Directors this year as Production Director.
Nigel, Managing Director of AGW Electronics said:
"With his amplitude of experience, excellent client relationships and problem-solving abilities, Andy will be a fantastic addition to our Board of Directors."
John Walters | Technical Director
John joined the team here at AGW in 1996 as part of a 'Year in Industry' for his university course at Sheffield Hallam University. Impressed with his attitude and work ethic, John was offered a permanent job at the end of his placement, continuing part-time whilst finishing his studies and ultimately taking on a full-time role in 1997.
In his roles, John has been responsible for dealing with design and technical queries, both internally and externally to AGW whilst also managing the maintenance and repair of existing & new machinery and products.

Management Promotions
Ryan Hartill | Production Resources Manager
Ryan joined the team at AGW in 2010, starting out on the Toroid manufacturing line. Promoted to Production Supervisor in 2016, Ryan completed his Level 3 & Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management, earning Member status of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
With his 12 years of experience on the 'floor', Ryan's expertise will be a fantastic asset to the operational management team, supporting our apprentices and junior team members in learning and development within their roles.

"Ryan's experience will be an invaluable addition to our operational management team, and with his formal qualification in Leadership and Management, he's well placed to support his team to learn, grow and excel in their roles, whilst also being a role model of what's achievable in terms of career progression."
Julie Taylor | Finance Manager
Starting with AGW in 2000, Julie joined the team as Sales Office Assistant, moving into the Accounts department in 2003 where she gained her AAT Technician qualification. On top of her AAT qualification, Julie also covers all aspects of Finance, Payroll and HR within her role.
Nigel, Managing Director, said:
"Julie has long been a staple part of the financial aspect of our business, leading the Finance, Payroll and HR elements. Having Julie within our management structure will be fantastic for the business."
